Civilian injured during initial exchange of fire in Pampore encounter succumbs

Pampore, Nov 06 (KNS): A civilian who was injured during initial exchange of fire between militants and government forces in Meej area of Pampore area on Thursday night has succumbed to his injuries.

An official told KNS that Abid Nabi a resident of Pampore was among two injured who were shifted to hospitals after hit by bullets during initial exchange of fire. He said Abid who sufferred critical head injury was initially shifted to SDH Pampore where from he was taken to SMHS for advanced treatment.

According to official he was kept on ventilator in SMHS however he succumbed today morning at around 6:30 am.

Meanwhile another injured namely Kifayat Ahmad is undergoing treatment at Bone and Joint hospital Srinagar whose condition according to doctors is stable.

Pertinently, one unidentified militant has been killed so far in the ongoing encounter in Meej Pampore. (KNS)
