Srinagar, September 29:(KNS) Police Premiere League "PLAY FOR PEACE" a Cricket tournament which was inaugurated by Hon'ble Lt Governor of UT of J&K on 20th September, concluded with today's final match played between Chatterhama Knights versus Golden Brands. An initiative of Srinagar Police under Civic Action Program and the endeavor is to engage the budding talent of the district in cricket and to provide them a platform to polish their talent so their game is recognized and appreciated. On this occasion DGP J&K Police Dilbag Singh-IPS appreciated the efforts put in by Srinagar Police in engaging youth of the district in positive ways so their energies are diverted in right direction. DGP J&K Police also highlighted the role of Jammu and Kashmir Police in organising such events for youth development.
SSP Srinagar Dr. M. Haseeb Mughal-JKPS in his vote of thanks adress thanked the chief guest and other guests for gracing the occasion and making the event a success. SSP Srinagar also appreciated the role of J&K Police in promoting the budding talent and trying to provide a launching pad to the young and budding talent not only in Cricket but in other Sports and Skills also. SSP Srinagar thanked all the departments, wings, persons who were actively involved in making this Tournament happen. SSP Srinagar added that we are striving hard for complete restoration of Peace in the District and all such players become our peace ambassadors.

DGP J&K Police Dilbag Singh-IPS, ADGP CID  R.R Swain-IPS, ADGP Headquarters / Law & Order Abdul Gani Mir-IPS, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar-IPS, SSP Srinagar Dr. M. Haseeb Mughal-JKPS, AIG Welfare  Manoj Pandita-JKPS, SP Headquarters Srinagar, All Zonal SsP and SDPOs of District Srinagar were present at the occasion.

16 teams took part in the tournament and the matches were played on knock out basis. Todays Final match was played between Chatterhama Knights versus Golden Brands. In which Chatterhama Knights emerged as winner. The winning team was given 25000/= as reward money and winners trophy by the Chief Guest DGP J&K Police. Some more awards and Certificates were given to the players in different catagories. Tariq Ahmad was declared Man of the Match and Hashim Watson as Man of the Series.
Cricket lovers appreciated the efforts of Srinagar Police for promoting the game and encouraging the youth of the City to be part of the change.(KNS)
