Ch Zulfikar Ali condemns use of police force inside Kotranka J&K Bank Branch

Rajouri, Jan 8 (KNS): Former Minister and Vice President Apni Party  Zulfikar Ali has urged for opening of a new J&K Bank Branch at Kotranka, Rajouri District while condemning police action inside the branch office which has left a poor woman injured.

According to a statement issued to KNS, the  demand was raised in view of chaos witnessed at the already existing J&K Bank Branch at Kotranka.
In a statement to the KNS, Ch. Zulfikar Ali expressed his anguish over the police act inside the J&K Bank Branch in Kotranka which has left a poor woman injured. He said the poor woman Zareena Begam, resident of Marutha village, had come to the J&K Bank Branch for many others who were lined-up in large numbers waiting for their turn.
“The Police action should be investigated and the erring police officer should be punished,” demanded the former Cabinet Minister Ch. Zulfikar Ali. He questioned police action inside the branch which was over crowded because the bank is not able to cater needs of hundreds of people. Single branch cannot handle the pressure of work and therefore, the Govt must step in to sanction another J&K Bank Branch in Kotranka, he said.
He said that people from far-flung areas of Kotranka reach the branch after traveling for four to five fours, but there they face harsh attitude and chaos. “Many elderly people have complaint such behavior. We understand the pressure on the bank employees, but involving police and mistreatment to the costumers should not dent the decades of trust built on the bank,” he said.
Ch Zulfikar Ali said that the people come to bank for their pension, MGNREGA scheme payments, other Govt sponsored schemes after covering many kms on foot. “Is it not injustice with the poor population that they had to stand in queue for hours together and return without getting their works done? The Govt should immediately intervene and direct the Bank higher-ups to consider the long standing demand for opening another branch of J&K Bank,” he added.(KNS)
