Anantnag, May 17 (KNS): Senior leader of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Mohammad Sidiq Khan on Sunday expressed disappointment over step-mothers role of Central and UT Government to the problems faced by people of J&K since August 2019. He said people were hoping that their grievances will be addressed and whims be taken care of after scrapping Article 370 but both Central and UT governments failed to deal peoples issues after scrapping Article-370 which further alienated cross sections of society towards good governance slogan of BJP government.
Addressing media persons in Dak Banglow in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, BJP leader expressed disappointment over apathetic approach of central government towards issues faced by people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the policies opted by central government viz-a-viz Jammu and Kashmir have not proven fruitful.
“Central Government’s policies viz-a-viz Jammu and Kashmir have not proven pro-people. The Union Government has miserably failed in J&K while delivering things on ground and as such people from all walks of life have got dejected from step-mothers role”, Khan said.
Khan said that people were hoping that after scrapping Article-370, there will be a comprehensive change on ground in terms of development, trade, tourism, employment, education and other sectors but unfortunately after J&K turned into UT, administration is running state affairs like a dictatorship. He said when a senior politician who contested several elections can’t meet to an official, how can be a common man to meet?
“I am proud to be a part of BJP and I welcomed the abrogation of Article-370 but the process of dealing with issues after the decision disappointed people on the ground”.
BJP leader added as Covid-19 has badly ruined J&K like other parts of Country, I used every effort to reach J&K administration for betterment of people but no official bothered to meet me to discuss the issues facing people post-Covid-19 pandemic. He alleged Union Government of ignoring pleas of people of Jammu and Kashmir and termed it “dictatorial”.
“I sought appointment with Advisor Farooq Ahmad Khan and Divisional Commissioner Pandorang Pole with an aim to apprise them difficulties faced by people after Covid-19 lockdown situation but no official of administration bothered to meet me”, and alleged administration for proving “discourteous”.
BJP leader said before imposition of Covid-19 lockdown, Central Government should have thought thousand times for the welfare of weaker sections of society,be it students ,skilled workers , labourers, transporters who are badly suffered across the country with such decisions. (KNS)
