Ceasefire agreements: Political Parties call it a beginning towards peace 

Srinagar, Feb 25 (KNS): Political Parties of all shades today welcomed the observance of ceasefire agreements on LoC by India and Pakistan.

Peoples Democratic Front chairperson, Hakeem Yaseen told KNS that this is a good step towards peace and it should have been taken long before. 

“When in 2002 the LOC was burning but the dialogue then played a role to low the down the violence. There should be again the resumption of dialogue to have peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. The friendly relation between India and Pakistan will benefit the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
 
The President of Jammu Kashmir Pradesh committee, G A Mir told KNS that there should be proper policy for long term peace. 

“Due to ceasefire violation we are suffering, having biryani in Pakistan or other, without a policy between two countries won’t bring peace in Kashmir. This is military level talk, and they take place at occasions, to have a long-term peace, the countries need to sort the issues and have a proper roadmap. The Modi government have to clear its policy,” he added.
Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minster Kavinder Gupta said all Governments want good relation with neighbours. 
" We welcome ceasefire decesion. We always wanted good relation with Pakistan. Atal Bihari Vajpayee went to lahore in bus to extend hand of friendship. Actually Pakistan should extend their support to peace. The money they pump into defence should be used in welfare measures of their people who are dying of hunger."


Meanwhile J&K Anjuman Sharie Shian termed  the Indo-Pak DGMO level talks as big and positive development  where both the armies have agreed to strict observance of all agreements, understandings and cease firing along the Line of Control.
Spokesperson J&K Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian in a statement issued to KNS said that the littlest signals of companionship between these two atomic neighbors can have an immense effect to lives of the general population of J&K.
He further said that an opportunity has arrived when these Government in Delhi and in Islamabad which in number pioneers can make history by going for a tranquil arranged settlement all things considered with the goal that advancement and destitution mitigation can wind up national needs for India and Pakistan rather than encounter and war.
"Individuals of J&K are anticipating a time of progress and it is trusted that Delhi and Islamabad will make favorable condition for discourse and advancement in the State," he included.

Earlier, the Director Generals of Military Operations of India and Pakistan held discussions over the established mechanism of hotline contact. 

In a joint statement, they said that the two sides reviewed the situation along the Line of Control and all other sectors in a free, frank and cordial atmosphere.
          
“In the interest of achieving mutually beneficial and sustainable peace along the borders, the two DGMOs agreed to address each other’s core issues and concerns, which have propensity to disturb peace and lead to violence.”

As per the statement, both sides agreed for strict observance of all agreements, understandings and cease firing along the Line of Control and all other sectors with effect from midnight 24/25 Feb 2021.
          
“Both sides reiterated that existing mechanisms of hotline contact and border flag meetings will be utilised to resolve any unforeseen situation or misunderstanding,” the statement reads. (KNS)
