Srinagar, Mar 20 (KNS): The Crime Branch Kashmir today produced Preliminary Chargesheet against the accused National Scholarship portal for merit cum means scholarship scam.
According to the statement issued to KNS, " CB today produced preliminary chargesheet against accused Selim Sheikh R/O West Bengal in case FIR No. 04/2020 U/S 420, 468,120-B, 201 RPC and 66 (D) IT Act before the Hon'ble Anti-corruption Court Srinagar for  uploading fake application forms on National Scholarship portal for merit cum means scholarship."

The accused Salem Sheik from West Bengal who was apprehended and brought to Kashmir, by a Crime Branch Kashmir team headed by a DySP, for his involvement in uploading fake application forms on national scholarship portal for merit cum means scholarship Under Minority quota for J&K Students during the year 2018-19 for district Kulgam.

"Subsequently, fake verifications were conducted from the institutes which did not exist in the states mentioned in the application forms," it said.(KNS)
