KUPWARA, June 09 (KNS): In wake of current Lockdown in Valley, hundreds of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) subscribers are aghast over the suspended service of company in district Kupwara from last 6 months.

According to reports “The suspended service by BSNL to its Internet subscribers and defunct Landline has put their business on halt from last 6 months and they have literally shut their Business and others. Each month I receive bills from my BSNL broadband number (01955-252255) amounting to less than Rs 650, but this month despite the fact that their services and internet remained barred, they have raised bill amounting to Rs 1612 which is unjustified as for last six months their services remained down and I have already paid the amount of Rs 3100 on last bill and my balance was nill at that time but from that time their service remained shunt ,” I was shocked when i see this month they have charged about Rs 700 more, what can I say, I am totally confused ,I am going regularly to BSNL office Kupwara but they do nothing said Raoof Hussain , a BSNL Broadband subscriber from Kupwara town.

A delegation of BSNL customers led by Rameez Raja Bhat said that for the last 15 days landlines at Poshpora and Kunan villages of Trehgam tehsil are not functioning.

Bhat said the cables were damaged by the Roads and Buildings Department (R&B) during road widening work on the Kupwara –Trehgam Road. However, despite repeated complaints BSNL authorities are letting their customers suffer by not making any effort to repair the cables.

Resented the “insensitive attitude “of the BSNL Company for even the gagged period. Subscribes said the company should withdraw the bills and start our Landline Connection forthwith failing which “legal action will be initiated against them.”
