BSF celebrates International Old Age Day in Srinagar

 Srinagar October 01 (KNS):  A spectacular ceremony was organised by SHQ BSF Srinagar, Panthachowk in association with Ashtha Charitable Trust, Sarvodaya Enclave, New Delhi on the occasion of International Old Age Day on 01 Oct 2022 at Rangshala, SHQ BSF Campus, Panthachowk.


Manvinder Singh Bhatia, IPS, IG OPS, CRPF Sector Kashmir graced the gala event as Chief Guest. He was received by Sh Dharmendra Pareek, DIG (PSO), Frontier HQ BSF Kashmir and Sh S S Chandel, DIG, SHQ BSF Srinagar. The arrival of the Chief Guest was welcomed by a grand fanfare and Band salute which was witnessed by all Officers, all ranks of BSF, families of Martyrs, BSF personnel and Old Age Civilians. The family members of BSF personnel also participated in the cultural programme.
Chief Guest presented Shawl, Momento and cash reward to the invitees. 
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief guest whole heartedly appreciated the excellent efforts of the gallant bordermen during the operations. While praising BSF, he further added that by organising these events, the Force proves its worthiness and devotion at all fronts, be it operational, training or social. The Chief Guest extended his best wishes to all Old Age persons and their families. 
A plantation drive was also organised to commemorate the day.(KNS)
