BSF 70 Bn organizes Free Med Camp in Uri, 240 patients treated, given medicines

Uri, Dec 15 (KNS): BSF 70 BN on Tuesday organized a Free Medical Camp under Civic Action Program (CAP) in Jabla (Salamabad) Uri of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

According to reports, a team of qualified medicos comprising Dr Gulshan Singh, CMO (SG), Dr Shivam, AC (MO) from 70 Bn BSF and lady Dr Mumtaza, MO detailed by Dr Mohammad Ramzan, BMO Sub Division Hospital, Uri gave treatment and medical advice to 240 patients including male, female
and children having various ailments.

"The response of the villagers towards the medical camp was overwhelming and they really appreciated the much-needed civic action on the part of BSF in this far-flung area during harsh weather", official said.

Besides distributing free medicines to the patients, the doctors also educated the villagers about winter related diseases and the ongoing COVID-19. They advised them to follow necessary preventive protocols and not lower their guard against the
deadly pandemic to stop its further spread.

The medical camp was followed by the cordial interaction between BSF officials and civilians over a cup of tea and refreshment.

"The 70 BN BSF has been championing such civic
action programmes in border areas. Not very long ago, one such Medical Camp in border village Gwalta on 7" November 2020 and another Veterinary Medical Camp in border village Gohallan on 6" Oct 2020 were also organised by 70 Bn BSF", an official said. (KNS)
