BRO clear debris caused by major landslide in Uri

Uri March 03 (KNS): Border Roads Organisation on Wednesday cleared debris caused by a major landslide in Choolan village of Uri. 

According to officials major landslide triggered at KM-7, Choolan village at Mohra Baaz road in the intervening night of 1/2 March.

They said the slide cut the strategically important road which resulted in cutting across 7/8 villages for the main stream of Uri. However the BRO authorities on receiving the information acted swiftly and employed 2/3 major earth moving plants to clear the slide. 

"The slide was cleared and the connectivity was established by the evening of 2nd March though the widening of road is still in progress", an official said.

Meanwhile the locals hailed the efforts of the BRO authorities at the occasion.(KNS)
