BJP to hold 15- day mega programme from August 5 to mark JK special status revocation anniversary

Srinagar, July 24 (KNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to hold a 15- day long programme of mega functions in J&K on the first anniversary of revocation of J&K’s special status.

The 15- day programme schedule includes the Tricolour will be unfurled in all the zonal, tehsil and district headquarters, General Secretary BJP Ashok Koul told KNS.

"BJP members will organise ceremonies in municipal wards and head offices to celebrate the occasion," he added.

There are a lot of programmes in the schedule. We have kept a day to remember all police and political workers killed in the past three decades in J&K,” Koul informed KNS.

" We are trying for many leaders to be part of the programme. Let us how it goes," he said.

Regarding the demand of restoration of statehood to J&K by Altaf Bukhari led J&K Apni Party, he said, " we have also demanded for the restoration of statehood. But time is not ripe for it. it will be returned once conducive atmosphere is here."

He also said that security review was conducted of all Political leaders ans workers and most of them have been provided security. "Rest will also get in some days."
