Biker killed, pillion rider injured in road mishap in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 07 (KNS): A motorcyclist died on Monday afternoon while as his pillon rider was injured after unknown vehicle hit them near Kawari Bridge in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS) that an unknown vehicle hit the bike resulting the death of biker and injures to another. The biker has been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh resident of Bicherwara Kralgund while as injured has been identified as Mehraj-ud-Din Bhat son of Mohmmad Ramzan.

Soon after the accident, both injured have been taken to District Hospital Handwara for treatment, while Mudasir was declared brought dead on his arrival.

A doctor at DH Handwara confirmed the death of Mudasir and said Mehraj-ud-Din is being treated at hospital.

A police official also confirmed the accident to KNS and said manhunt has been launched to trace the unknown vehicle. He further said FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations taken up. (KNS)
