Batpora Residents hold silent protest demands Handloom Village

Srinagar, Aug 25 (KNS): The people of Batpora Magam in north kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday hold silent protest against the authorities and were demanding Batpora as Handloom Village.

The people have alleged that Batpora was removed from the list of development of Kanihama Batpora as a Handloom Village by the Central Government against which the people of Batpora holds silent protested.

It may be recalled that in the last few months, the Ministry of Textiles of the Central Government of India had approved the development of Kanihama Batpora as a Handloom Village.

The people of Batpora said that after the announcement, a survey of Kanihama Batpora was also conducted. He further said that he was shocked a few days ago when he came to know that Batpora is not included in the list of Handloom Village.

The protesters demanded the Government to include Batpora along with Kanihama Handloom Village.

Residents tolds KNS News they appealed to Governor led administration intervention the matter and include Batpora as Handloom Village. (KNS)
