Handwara October 21:(KNS) Youth Service and Sports Zone Handwara on Thursday held cleanliness drive in Handwara under Azadi Ka Amrut Mohatsav. 

The Department of Youth Services and Sports Zone Handwara conducted a cleanliness drive at across the Handwara Market and children park, Officers, officials and locals participated in the drive.

During the clean India drive all field staff along with office staff of Zone Hariganiwan and sports loving students participated.

On the occasion, Municipal committee chairman, were the cheif guest. Principal Government Boys Higher secondary, ZEO Handwara, ZEPO sports department, and Haji farooq were also present on the occasion. 

District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Rayees Ah, Haji Farooq Ah, Bashir Ah, Nazir Ah, Parmeet Singh, Javid Ah, Maqbool Ah, ZEPO Bashir Ah, Faroq Ah Yatoo, and other officials took an awareness rally through the main market of Handwara to Chinar Park Handwara to highlight the importance of cleanliness and ill effects of polythene and plastic in day to day life. 

Mohammed Maqboo, (PeT) teacher told to media that, the drive was initiated to create awareness among people to keep the surroundings neat and clean and to avoid excessive use of plastic in day to day life, he added. 

The locals lauded the efforts of youth service sports for carrying cleanliness drive. (KNS)
