Authorities carries out market checking in Handwara, fines erring shopkeepers

Handwara, July 07 (KNS): Authorities on Tuesday carried out a market checking in various areas of Kralgund Qaziabad in north Kashmir's Kupwara district and fined erring shopkeepers.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a market checking drive was carried out by enforcement teams of FCS and CAS Kupwara in collaboration with Naib Tehsildar Kralgund, Police and Deputy Magistrate Qaziabad Covid-19.

During the drive the quality of essential products was checked especially vegetables, fruits, meat, poultry and also hotels were checked.

Iqbal Rasool Mir Deputy Magistrate Covid-19 Qaziabad said fine was collected from those shopkeepers who were not maintaining quality. At the occasion the shopkeepers were stressed upon to maintain social distance and wear face mask.

Rupees 1800 were also fined from the erring shopkeepers during the checking. Meanwhile locals of the area hailed authorities and said such checking’s would be continued in future as well. (KNS
