August 5 decisions appalling in J&K history: Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian

Srinagar, August 04 (KNS): Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian on Tuesday termed August 5, 2019 decisions as appalling in the history of J&K and said an eerie silence has been hanging over the political landscape of J&K since the special status of J&K was tempered by New Delhi.
According to statement issued to KNS, spokesperson of the party said that after a year of abrogation of the Article 370 of Indian Constitution, Kashmir is continuously under siege and being silenced. “The conflict is multiplied and people are targeted and collectively punished”, party spokesperson Aga Muntazir Mehdi said.
He added though the article was a white wash itself and nearly legitimized state atrocities but its abrogation will get down the history of the region as a black chapter and a worst form of state violence perpetrated ever in the history.
Indicating apprehensions, Aga Muntazir Mehdi said that in the wake of the abrogation many policies are being introduced that will have very worst effects on the region as whole. “The mind-set of changing demography, communalization, and reinforcing politics of opportunism is only an indication of mishandling and imitating Israeli model without looking for its legality and comparability”, he added.
“Kashmiris are forced to live in constant fear and under state surveillance and others are under confinements and solitary cells of jails. The state will have to be accountable for this kind of oppression.” spokesperson said.
He said that party has always advocated for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the will and aspirations of all the people of J&K and stands firm and committed. He asked both India and Pakistan to resume dialogue at the earliest to seek a permanent and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of the people of J&K, by including them as a main stakeholder.
