Attempt to drag Tarigami’s meeting with LG unnecessary, uncalled for: CPI (M)

Srinagar, January 10 (KNS): The Peoples Conference (PC) leader Imran Raza Ansari’s attempt to drag CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami’s name to create controversy about the latter’s recent meeting with J&K LG Manoj Sinha is unnecessary and uncalled for.

Statement issued to news agency-kashmi news service(KNS), reads In his letter, Mr Ansari has brought Tarigami’s meeting with the Lieutenant Governor in focus which is absolutely unwarranted. What was the purpose of meeting? The unfortunate killing of three youths from south Kashmir in Hokersar-Lawaypora on December 30 which continues to be a burning issue.

Tarigami met the LG and demanded an impartial and time-bound probe into this horrific incident and justice for the victim families. The same was reported by most of the newspapers next day.  Whom else should we approach and ask for probe and justice to the victim families?

What CPI(M) leader’s meeting has to do with the PAGD or how it has violated the spirit of the alliance?

It is pertinent to mention here that the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), whose J&K unit is headed by Tarigami, had also moved the National Human Rights Commission, seeking a probe into the killing of three labourers from Rajouri in Shopian last July. The CPI (M) will continue its efforts by using every opportunity for demanding justice for the victims (KNS).
