Killing Innocent party workers would not stop people to join the party: Koul


Srinagar, August 08:(KNS) J&K BJP General Secretary (Organization), Ashok Koul on Saturday condemned the killing of party’s sarpanch, Sajad Ahmad Khanday of Qazigund in south Kashmir and stated that militants are now frustrated with development.
In his two day tour to Kashmir, Koul visited the slain family in Qazigund and was accompanied by BJP J&K vice-president Sofi Yousuf, Party’s Kashmir Media In-charge Manzoor Bhat and other senior party functionaries
While paying rich tributes to the slain Khanday who was killed by militants a few days ago in Qazigund, he said killing Innocent party workers would not stop people to join the party. “Such acts are barbaric and highly condemnable. These things would not be tolerated anymore,” he said.
Koul termed the incident as unfortunate and offered condolences with the bereaved family. He said killings have pained the party leadership.
In a statement to KNS, he said, killing innocent party workers would not determine the morale of the party workers. “If they will one Khanday, dozens of other Khanday’s are ready to sacrifice their lives for the nation,” Koul said.
“We stand by the family at this difficult situation. Those who are responsible would not achieve anything,” he said.
Koul also visited the place, where panches and sarpanches have been accommodated by the police and assured them every help at this difficult stage.
As per Koul, people have shown their full support and celebrated the abrogation of Article 370 by hoisting tricolor at dozens of places in Kashmir. “It was the clear message to those, who opposed its abrogation and were trying to disturb the peace in the region,” he said.
He also reviewed the accommodation of sarpanches, food and security, and other issues and stated that administration is mulling to safeguard the lives of everyone where it is BDC chairpersons or panches.
The party workers on the occasion expressed deep sympathies with the family and urged that every possible help to the bereaved family.
J&K Vice President and senior leader, Sofi Yousuf expressed grief with the family and condemned the cold-blooded murder of Khanday in broad daylight by terrorists.
“Militants are frustrated with the developmental activities on the ground due to which party is gaining popularity in the Kashmir. “ Cycle of violence has to end and people will get a sigh of relief from terror-related incidents soon,” he said.(KNS)
