Uri, Aug 31 (KNS): Police and army recovered cache of arms and ammunition in Banali forest area of Boniyar Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said on Monday.
SDPO Uri Junaid Wali while talking to KNS said that the joint teams of police and 5 Jatt of army launched CASO in the area on Sunday after inputs about presence of suspected militants in the area.
He said that during searches in the wooden area, two AK-47 rifles along with several magazines, 74 AK rounds, a pistol with 38 rounds, 10 hand grenades, 2 wireless sets and a pouch were recovered by forces.
He said a case under FIR No. 59/2020 under section 7/25 IA Act has been registered in PS Boniyar and further investigations taken up. (KNS)
