Arm-wrestling competition held in Nowgam, Handwara


Handwara, Oct 09 (KNS): Army’s 17 Infantry Brigade Nowgam in north Kashmir’s Handwara on Friday organised a arm-wrestling competition in which local youth participated.
According to Kashmir News Service, scores of spectators throng the scene and supported the participants.
The final match of the tournament was played between Khan Mohalla and Gamander Mohalla, however team Gamandar Mohlla led by Tariq Ahmad Shikeh bagged the title.
At the occasion the officers of 17 Infantry Brigade awarded the winning team with cash and trophies.
Army officer while addressing the participants at the occasion elaborated the aim of game and said the motive behind the tournament is to engage to local youth towards sports activities and prevent them from indulging in drug trade.
Sarpanch Nowgam Nayeem u Rehman, Lamberdar, Army Goodwill School (AGS) staff and other respected citizens of the area were present at the occasion (KNS)
