Why wasn’t Mirwaiz quizzed in Srinagar, asks Dr. Farooq

‘Abrogation of Article 370 will pave way for freedom’

Srinagar, Apr 08 (KNS): National Conference (NC) president and party candidate for Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, Dr. Farooq Abdullah Monday asked New Delhi not to divide the hearts, saying that abrogation of Article 370 will end the accession between Jammu and Kashmir and union of India.

As per Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, addressing a rally here at Khanyar, Dr. Abdullah said that the upcoming parliamentary elections are different from the other polls as the country at present was under threat.

He said that they claim the construction of roads will be made but “how can people survive and see such roads when there will be no country in place.”

He added that for the first time, BJP in its manifesto has claimed that it will abrogate the Article 370, the special status of Jammu and Kashmir as they want to bury everything of JK including its flag and special status.

“Abrogating Article 370 will pave way for Azadi. If they want to repeal it, let them go ahead but it will end an accession between JK and union and of India and will also pave way for Azadi,” he said, adding that there will be no one who will raise their flag if the constitution is abrogated.

Reacting to the summoning of Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman and top cleric, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Dr. Abdullah said that why didn’t they (NIA) question him here. “Why was Mirwaiz taken to New Delhi? Why didn’t they question him here? Do they want to tell us they are powerful? Such things won’t suppress people at all,” he told a gathering.

He also said that if New Delhi thinks that they can make JK people slaves than they are living in fool’s paradise. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that they will hearts of people but I want to tell him that use of force can’t help in winning the hearts of people,” he said.

About highway ban, he said, to transit 45 vehicles of troopers, the Srinagar-Jammu highway was closed for a day. “JK belongs to its people but they have to get permission first to pass through the roads,” he said, adding that “we have stand against this and people must vote for NC in upcoming elections and help the party to form the government on its own without any coalition so that sufferings of people will come to an end.” (KNS)
