NC, Cong MLA's walks out of Assembly over power crisis

Govt deliberately making Kashmiris suffer


Jammu, Jan 22 (KNS): National Conference senior member and MLA Khaniyar along with Congress Members on Monday walked-out of the Legislative Assembly in protest against the power crisis in state especially in Kashmir Valley.
According to the KNS correspondent, the members accused power minister, Nirmal Singh, of taking the house “for-granted”.
“You are giving deal to your power minister who has failed,” NC’s Ali Mohammad Sagar told the government as he walked-out of the house. “You are shielding your power minister.”
Sagar was not satisfied with the response of Singh about completion of a receiving station in Srinagar.
“You are deliberately making Kashmiris suffer,” he told the PDP-BJP coalition government.
Sagar also accused speaker Kavinder Gupta of taking directions from “unknown forces”. “You are bulldozing the opposition,” he told Gupta.
Singh was also questioned over return of power projects and fixing of responsibility of missing of MoU of Dul Hasti.
Later, NC’s Altaf Kaloo and Congress’ Usman Majeed and Vikar Rasool also left the house. (KNS)
