Kashmiri youth participates in UN Youth assembly

Appeals Valley students to take good initiatives over quality education

Ganderbal, Feb 24 (KNS): Suhail Mehraj, a budding prolific writer, and Youth activist hailing from Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district participated in the 21 session of Youth Assembly at UN 2018, held at the United Nations between 14 and 16 of this month.
Suhail, a Kashmiri Youth represented Kashmir at UN, crossing all the odds where youth leaders from across the world talked over GD17 goals.
While delivering speech on GD4, he shared his idea about how to bring in changes for a sustainable future, how to enhance the quality of education in World especially in developing countries and the leadership responsibilities of youth to help to achieve GD4 goal.
He also pushed the need to add green education in the columns of educational system as world is suffering from climate change.
Suhail was also invited by the ambassador of Australia at UN to discuss concerns about Kashmir.
He asked for their help to initiate some activities in the field of Education in Kashmir, to help to enhance the quality of education in Kashmir.
Suhail talking to KNS over phone from USA said, “I believe that it’s only good quality of education that holds the potential to get us out of problems.”
“I would like to appeal the educated youth of Valley to take good initiatives for the enhancement of quality of education. Everyone can start contributing from their own homes by taking care of every learner around you. Encouraging and engaging them in learning activities, then only things are going to change,” he added.
“I’m heartily indebted to Space Communication for endorsing my trip especially Amit Wanchoo CEO Space communication. When I received the invitation I suffered a lot but it was Amit who handled my hand and encouraged me,” Suhail told KNS.
Pertinently, Suhail, who is student of Amar Singh College Srinagar, has already initiated many initiatives for some causes, like Education, Youth Empowerment and Environment and In ‘India International Science Festival’ (IISF) held at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Suhail received an award for his research work on ‘dragon flies’, popularly known as ‘helicopter’ in the Valley.
