Gagangeer residents protest against PDD department

Ganderbal, Sep 08 (KNS): Scores of aggrieved residents of Gojar Pati village of Gagangeer in Gund Tehsil of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday morning staged a protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) for failing to repair their damaged transformer from last ten days.
The residents blocked the Srinagar-Leh highway to mark a protest against the PDD department.
Chanting slogans against PDD department, the protesters blocked the vehicular movement on Srinagar-Leh Highway at Gagangeer and demanded authorities to repair of their damaged transformer at an earliest.
The residents alleged that their transformer was damaged ten days back, but so far it was not repaired by PDD department.
Meanwhile, police party reached to the spot and assured the protesters of quick redressal of their problem.
Following the assurances by the police, the protesters later dispersed peacefully traffic was allowed to ply. (KNS)
