Apni Party VP Choudhary Zulfiqar calls for unity among all parties for restoration of special status

Srinagar, Oct 17 (KNS): Apni Party leader & Vice president Apni Party Choudhury Zulfkar called for unity among all parties for restoration of special status of JK.

In a statement issued to KNS, he expressed his views many hours after the Six mainstream political parties on formed Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration to fight united on restoration of special status of Jammu and Kashmir and peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.
Choudhury Zulfkar was a minister in PDP-BJP Government and deserted from PDP to join Apni Party where he was appointed as it's Vice President.

"All the political parties must unite to fight for the honour, dignity, status of the people of state including restoration of State irrespective of our political ideologies," Zulfkar tweeted according to the KNS correspondent.

Zulfkar was questioned over his tweet by PDP leader Nizamudin Bhat.

“How can unity be with forces not like minded, not ideologically akin to one another, not conforming to one strategy. It is always among like minded, Jenab,” Bhat asked.

To this, Zulfkar replied, “Sir, But all of us have a common goal to achieve the honour and dignity for our people.”

Zulfkar's stand is opposite to the position taken by the Apni Party on unity among political parties for restoration of special status.

“These people met on 3 August and said we will protect Article 370, which was removed two days later. So the resolution is over. Yes, the Apni Party is for 370 restoration, but only the Supreme Court or the Parliament can do that. No regional party can do that,” Altaf Bukhari had said in an interview to the Delhi based media outlet.

“They (parties) are hoodwinking people and creating a smokescreen by demanding Article 370. Gupkar Declaration is a means to grab power and nothing else,” he had said. (KNS)
