APHC pays tribute to 1931 Martyrs

Srinagar, July 11 (KNS): All Parties Hurriyat Conference said that 13 July 1931 is a key milestone in the history of J&K as a day when Kashmiris for the first time collectively stood up to resist oppressive autocratic rule and give expression to their aspirations .
according to statement issued to KNS reads, on this day 22 Kashmiris were brutally gunned down outside the state central jail to silence dissent , and since then this fateful day is observed as youm e shuhada e Kashmir ( Marty’s day) by all Kashmir based political formations irrespective of there ideology or outlook. It is a proud inherited legacy of all people of J&K who since then continue to struggle and sacrifice for the realisation of their political assertions and will and political empowerment.

Paying tribute to the martyrs of 13 th July and all other Marty’s APHC said that their supreme sacrifices are etched in the history of Kashmir and inshallah their dream will be realised . Peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue is a reality with which both India and Pakistan will have to engage and the will of people of J&K upheld. APHC leadership will continue to strive towards this end,inshallah.

It said that due to the current Covid 19 pandemic and the continued arbitrary house detention of chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the call for the yearly held march towards the martyrs graveyard Naqshband sahib and the commemorative rally held there stands suspended. People are requested that as per tradition to commemorate the day by observing a hartal. (KNS)
