Amid bird flu scare, several crows found dead in Karnah

Karnah, Jan 30(KNS): Amid bird flu scare, several crows were found dead mysteriously in Border town of Karnah in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Saturday, which triggered panic in the area.
   
Official sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that about half dozen crows were found dead in Suliman Tanghdar and Nachain village of Karnah this morning. 

Some locals spotted dead crows and informed the Police and animal husbandry department.
   
Block vetanarary officer (BVO) Karnah Dr. Naseer Ahmad while talking to KNS said they have received information about the death of crows in Suliman and Nachian village and a Team of the departments visited the spot.

He said that the samples have been collected and the carcasses have been burnt.

He said that the samples have been sent for testing. 

“The birds may have died due to intense cold wave. However, not taking any chances, samples have been sent for testing to check if they died due to bird flu,” he sadi. (KNS)
