Langate, Nov 20 (KNS): Former lawmaker Er Rashid led Awami Itehad Party on Friday filed nomination papers for upcoming DCC elections for Mawer territorial seat in north Kashmir's Langate constituency.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), AIP candidate Khursheed Ahmad Dar who was accompanied by his supporters filled nomination papers. While speaking to reporters at the occasion, Dar the main aim behind contesting polls is to ensure development and welfare of common people in the area.
He said there are hundreds of educated youth in the constituency who are waiting for governments job but unfortunately the successive governments of J&K left them unattended resulting the lot is about to cross age bar.
He appealed local youth to come and cast their vote in his favor and give a chance to development and prosperity in the area.
To a query, he said AIP is not part of PAGD as these leaders have fought elections in recent past for protecting special status of Jammu and Kashmir and today after Article 370 is nowhere existing they too came again before public for its restoration.
When asked AIP is supporting the alliance in Mawer as they couldn't file nomination so far, Dar said the party is not aware of that and said JKAP won't have any candidate here that might be the reason. (KNS)
