Srinagar, 29 May (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Youth National Conference Provincial Vice President Ahsan
Pardesi on Friday sought widening of Khimber Gasu-Buzuhama Road saying the local population has to go
through immense hardship on the account of persistent log-jams.
According to statement issued to KNS Pardeshi said the most perturbing concern the people of Khimber, Burzhama and other adjoining areas is the narrow stretch of road that connects Khimber Gassu to Burzhama, the sole stretch of road is always log jammed making it difficult for the locals to reach their destinations on time, Ahsan said adding, “besides that it is the elderly and patients, who have to bear the brunt of persist jams on the narrow stretch of road.
The population of the two hamlets has seen exponential increase since the road was constructed, now that
the population has soured up, the road should be widened to cater to the increasing rush of traffic and
people. The area has seen bump in the construction activities, the road grid, alleys, unfortunately haven’t seen any augmentation .’
While urging the district administration and the divisional administration to remove the bottle necks and start the process of widening the road
For safe and smooth passage of traffic, Ahsan said the measure will bring respite to the locals who have to suffer especially during winter. “It is expected that the administration will rise up to the exigencies, and initiate the process without further delay. The significance of an issue like that of traffic jams, poor
roads cannot be down played as it has direct bearing on the public.(KNS)
