Handwara, Sep 07 (KNS): Farmers of north Kashmir’s Handwara town on Monday took the donated land back into their possession after authorities failed to compensate the donors.
Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS), farmers of main town Handwara expressed displeasure against authorities who failed to compensate the donors who gave their piece of land for floriculture purpose.
“The piece of land measuring 1.18 kanal was donated by local farmers which according to authorities was allocated for public park but however despite passing of ample time, donors of the land were not given any compensation”, locals said.
According to locals the piece of land was given in year 2018 but after authorities failed to compensate the concerned landlords, they took back the possession of their land.
“The concerned landlords approached several times to officials but they didn’t pay heed to the matter”, land owners said.
When KNS contacted Director Floriculture Farooq Ahmad, he said I came to know about the matter afresh and if there will be any genuine demand, that will be surely addressed. (KNS)
