Srinagar March 25 : (KNS) Advisor to Lt Governor Baseer Ahmed Kan on Thursday said that "tulip festival ' to be inaugurated by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha will begin on April  3 and continue for six days.

Talking to reporters after throwing open Tulip Garden in Srinagar Baseer Ahmed Khan said " we have officially thrown open Tulip garden to both the people and as well as tourists”, adding that "the entire Kashmir is famous for its natural beauty, and the opening of Tulip garden will add more charm to the tourism of Jammu and Kashmir.

He further said ‘from April 03, we are going to have a tourist festival here for six days, will be called “Tulip Festival”, adding that ' the festival will be inaugurated by LG Manoj Sinha. On this festival, there will be not only the showcase of Tulip Garden , but showcase of Handicraft, rich culture, cuisine". Calling it a complete package for tourists the advisor said 

"The showcase of culture, craft, handicraft, and woodcarving will boost the tourism of Kashmir".

Calling upon media to help government to promote the tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, Baseer Ahmed Khan said "Our new project of estimated cost of Rs 10cr is in process here. This project of 10cr will boost our efforts, especially the tourism of Jammu Kashmir:.

"Our goal is not only to make Stating that tulip Garden is a place of attraction for both locals and as well as domestic tourists, Advisor said "tulip garden will become global tourist destination".

He said "to promote tourism, our efforts are not restricted to Tulip and Mughal gardens or Gulmarg, but we will explore all the beautiful places, like, Lolab, Basoli, Kashtiward and Badrwa*.

 

Asking both the people and as well as the tourists to follow the SoPs, government guidelines and wear face masks,  Director Floriculture, Farooq Ahmed Rather told  KNS, "we have recorded the arrival of around 4000  tourists on the first day of opening of the garden, probably the highest one from past years and

I hope, that tourists who are planning to come to Tulip Garden follow SoPs, and wear facemasks.(KNS)
