Kupwara, September 30(KNS): Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Kupwara, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat today chaired Mega Block Divas of 4 blocks including Kupwara, Drugmulla, Hyhama and Qadirabad at Government Degree College Kupwara. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone was also present, on the occasion.
While addressing the function, the ADDC said that the motive behind holding the events like Block Divas is to ensure that the people are heard by the government functionaries and timely resolution is provided to their genuine issues accordingly.
On the occasion, an interactive session was held in which the BDC Chairpersons and PRIs put forth their grievances & demands before the officers. They raised various issues including upgradation of water supply schemes, macadamization of inner links, release of pending payments under MGNREGA, PMAY & SBM, allotment of Ration cards to uncovered families and timely disbursal of loans under KCC & other schemes.
While hearing the BDC Chairpersons & PRIs, the ADDC issued on spot directions to the concerned officers to resolve their genuine problems & demands on priority basis. He directed the concerned officers to submit detailed report of water supply schemes being implemented in the concern blocks.
In his speech, the ADC Kupwara said that the objective of conducting programmes like Jan Abiyan/Awami Muhim and Block Divas is to bridge the gap between Government and the people to ensure every citizen is provided necessary public services and covered within the ambit of various welfare schemes.
Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Abdul Hamid; District Geology & Mining Officer, Mumtaz Ahmad; Cluster Head, J&K Bank Kupwara; District Officers and BDOs remained available for PRIs and the public all the day.(KNS)
