Rs 1.97 core 'take home ration' provided during lockdown



Kupwara, June 09 (KNS): Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone, who is also holding charge of Programme Officer, ICDS Kupwara today convened a meeting of CDPOs and Supervisors of the department to review the pace of progress.
The meeting was informed that as many as 80, 490 children of 6 months to 6 years age including pregnant and lactating mothers are enrolled at 2320 Anganwari Centres functioning across the district. The ADC was informed that during the lockdown period, 64,111children and 13,011 pregnant and lactating mothers have been provided 'take home ration' worth Rs1.97 crore which include channa, mogi, green peas, mustard oil, darah oil, haldi, salt, soji, sugar and biscuits. Besides, 6000 quintal rice have also been provided to these beneficiaries.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned to start the process of procurement of nutrition for Anganwari Centres as per already issued Decentralized Policy for Procurement of Supplementary Nutrition Under ICDS for Rural /Urban Areas. He also directed them to revive the work culture of the Anganwari Centres and keep all prescribed registers updating month wise.
ADC also asked CDPOs to identify 5 Anganwari Centres randomly in each project which can be looked into as model Anganwari Centres.
Among others, CDPO langate Mohammad Ayoob Wani was present in the meeting.(KNS)
