AAC condoles demise of senior leader Ghulam Mohammad Hoshiyaar

 

Srinagar, Feb 19 (KNS): Jammu & Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) has expressed deep grief over the demise of party's senior leader, founding member and former provincial president Haji Ghulam Muhammad Mir alias Hoshiyaar of Chhana Mohalla, Chhatabal area of  Srinagar. 

It is pertinent to mention here that the deceased recently visited Islamabad, Pakistan to meet his daughter and close relatives and now passed away late night at Bahria Town, Islamabad. 

The family of Haji Ghulam Muhammad Mir has had close relationship with the Mirwaiz Family since day one and the deceased was associated with the party since the day Shaheed-e-Millat laid the foundation of Awami Action Committee to represent the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir.
 
As per AAC statement since the deceased was an active and hard working member, he carried out his duties in a very responsible manner and through his political maturity rose to the level of provincial president. 

"During this period, Haji Ghulam Muhammad Mir was persecuted and faced jail terms but his loyalty, steadfastness and perseverance were his strength and his spirits could not be cowed down."

It reads that due to his political and social  activism during the Mo-e-Muqaddas  (SAW) movement  in 1964, Late Ghulam Muhammad Mir became famous as "Hoshiyaar" as he coined this slogan  so that the Moe-Muqaddas (SAW) movement and it's programmes were taken to a grass root level 

Paying rich tributes to Late Ghulam Muhammad Mir for his unflinching and selfless political and social contribution, the AAC said the demise had created a big political void which is hard to fill. 

Meanwhile, the deceased's sister who is the wife of Ghulam Ahmad Sahib of Nundreshi Colony Bemina also passed away last night .

The AAC on behalf of its leadership especially its incarcerated Chairman Mirwaiz Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq expressed deep grief over the demise of Ghulam Mohammad Mir.

Mirwaiz in his tributes said the party has lost a sincere and dedicated  leader.

Mirwaiz expressed heartfelt condolence with the deceased's son Farooq Ahmad Mir and his brother Abdul Majeed Mir and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant highest place in Jannah for the departed soul besides forbearance to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss. 

Meanwhile, during the congregation Friday prayers at the historic Jama Masjid Srinagar, a Dua-e-Majlis was organised and Fateha prayers were offered in favour of the departed souls. (KNS)
