Srinagar, Jan 21 (KNS): The Director General of Police on Sunday asked youth in Valley to avail maximum benefits from the Amnesty Scheme issued by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti last year, stating that those involved in stone pelting should now concentrate on building their careers.
According to KNS correspondent, the State police Chief S.P Vaid said after passing out parade in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district that Amnesty Scheme announced by the government would prove helpful for the youth of Kashmir Valley in channelizing their careers in a proper direction and that the scheme would end their hurdles in police verification for acquiring jobs. “We want the youth to build their careers and move ahead in life. The amnesty scheme would prove helpful for them in terms of police verification as same in required for jobs and even for going to Hajj,” DGP said.
Commenting over the border skirmishes in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that the loss of innocent lives during shelling was most unfortunate and that it is hoped that shelling ends and good sense prevails.
S.P. Vaid added that there was relative calm witnessed in Jammu area on Sunday and that adequate security measures have been put in place to avoid civilian causalities during the cross border shelling.
DGP said that a review meeting ahead of the January 26 was held at the police headquarters and that he is confident that the celebrations on that day will be held in a peaceful manner. “I cannot provide you all details at present but this much I can say that all security arrangements have been taken by the Police for peaceful January 26 celebrations,” DGP said.
