Baramulla, Nov 23 (KNS): Urging the centre to explore career building and employment opportunities for Kashmiri youth, the General Secretary PDP Youth and MLA Rafiabad Yawar Dilawar Mir has said that the need of the hour was to announce more Confidence Building Measures( CBM) to remove anger and alienation among the youth.
In a statement issued to KNS, he also hailed decision of the centre to provide amnesty to the thousands of involved stone pelters in Kashmir valley as a good will gesture.
“Centre’s decision to withdraw cases against involved stone pelters in Kashmir is an appreciable goodwill and Confidence Building Measure, Yawar said while addressing one day party workers convention at Dak Bunglow Baramulla.
He also hailed Government’s decision to provide ex- gratia to the state police personnel at par with the central armed police.
Responding to the demands of the workers, Yawar has assured that promises made to the people would be fulfilled up to their urges and expectations . However, he has underlined the need for active cooperation of the people especially youth to implement various social welfare and developmental programmes of the government at ground level .He called upon the youth to take a leading role in reconstruction of the state which has under gone a long trail of mayhem and destruction during decades long turmoil. He said peace and tranquillity was imperative for development and socio economic transformation of the state adding that active role of youth was imperative in this regard. Yawar has also made a fervent appeal to all the parties , at the helm of affairs in the state , to rise above their political considerations and contribute their bit in the economic and developmental process going on in every nook and corner of the state . “This will be in the better interests of the common masses, if they ( Parties )are really concerned about people’s welfare,” Yawar observed.
He said youth have to take a leading role in the implementation of various welfare and developmental measures in their respective areas and should not allow defeated elements to mislead the common masses on frivolous issues. .
“While urging to defeat machinations of disruptive elements, “ Yawar said onus lies on the youth to rise like a rock against all forces which are inimical to peace and prosperity of the state . He said that if we fail to protect identity and integration of our state at this crucial juncture, the posterity will never forgive us . He said time has come when youth have to come forward in a big way to enrich the politics with new ideas and ideals and clean the system of orthodoxy and selfishness. (KNS)
