Srinagar, Sep 19 (KNS): Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik has paid tributes to slain Bilal Ahmad Najar, Noorul Amin Dugga and Maroof Ahmad Nath, all residents of Khanabal who were killed on this day in 2010.
“The two young innocent boys were killed in the police firing outside Ahlihadis-Masjid Khanabal in Islamabad (Anant-Nagh) in the morning of 18th September, 2010, while they were joining funeral (Janazah) peacefully of another victim Maroof Ahmad Nath of the same locality and who was drowned to death earlier,” Malik said as per the statement issued to KNS.
Malik said that “these young boys became victims of Indian aggression and till date their killers are roaming free.”
While hailing the parents and kith and kin of these slain youth, Malik said that “from last eight years, these victims are fighting a legal battle against killers including one DySp Noor-ul-Hassan Parray and though court has ordered the persecution and even arrest of the killers, till date no one has been arrested in this case.”
“Hundreds of innocents have been killed in 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2016 and till date this spree of killings is going on and killers enjoying immunity from persecution are at large and instead of being penalized are being promoted,” Malik said, adding that “these innocent killings are a blot on the face of Indian democracy and according to the law of retribution, the killers and perpetrators will have to face justice one day for these crimes against humanity.”
While condemning the onslaught against Muharram procession across the valley especially in Srinagar today, Malik said that Srinagar was sealed by barricades, restrictions and curfew and when mourners defied these barricades they were showered upon with pellets, tear smoke shells and lathees resulting in injuries to many mourners.
