Locals flay Govt for showing apathy, seek immediate appointment of new Tehsildar

Srinagar, Jul 12 (KNS): The resentment is brewing up among the inhabitants of Watergam Rafiabad against the failure of the government in the appointment of a fullfledged Tehsildar at the Tehsil office which has hit the routine work at Watergam Tehsil office in Rafiabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A legion of complainants told KNS that the government had transferred Tehsildar three months back without sending a replacement for him and for the last three months the government is turning a deaf ear to the public outcry over the appointment of a new Tehsildar at Tehsil office Watergam Rafiabad.
They said that several villages of Rafiabad that fall under the catchment area of Tehsil Watergam are facing huge inconveniences in absence of a full fledged tehsildars who besides exercising drawing and disbursing officer is also required to attest essential documents like state subject certificates, land mutations and other revenue deeds.
The locals told KNS “we have been suffering for long in absence of a full fledged Tehsildar at the Tehsil office. For some simple application we have to travel from far off places to Tehsil office every day and in absence of Tehsildar concerned we return to our homes with deep disappointment.”
Meanwhile, locals appealed higher ups to appoint a full fledged Tehsildar at Tehsil office Watergam to take care of the routine administrative and revenue matters concerning people of the area. (KNS)
