Srinagar, Feb 21 (KNS): Secretary School Education department, Ajeet Kumar Sahu Thursday ordered extension in winter vacation of all schools up to March 2.
According to an order under number 74-Edu of 2019, dated 21-02-2019, government has extended winter vacation in all the schools in Kashmir and winter zone Jammu upto March 2, saying that schools will reopen on March 5.
Earlier, Directorate of School Education Kashmir had urged Secretary School Education department that winter vacation be extended in view of prevailing weather conditions.
“Winter vacation in all government and recognized private schools of Kashmir and winter zones of Jammu division is hereby extended up to March 02 in view of the extreme inclement weather conditions. All the schools shall now open on March 05,” the government order reads.
"However the teaching faculty and other staff of government schools shall report to duties on February 25," it added. (KNS)
