Jammu, Mar 17 (KNS): Inaugurating first of its kind event of food festival cum cultural program aimed at reuniting the two communities, Rafi Ahmad Mir VC JKTDC said that it’s a maiden food festival which will touch the hearts of people for its emotional connect driving into nostalgia of our rich culture.
The event was organised to mark the beginning of Navreh, the Kashmiri Pandit Calendar, which was well attended by people from all walks of life witnessed huge gatherings.
Speaking to media, Mir said that "the composite culture of the state is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits, and this is not a food festival alone but a humble attempt to connect the two communities on the beginning of Kashmiri Pandit New Year - Samvat".
He said that it was an endeavour of JKTDC to organise such event and in future we aim to mark presence in order to open horizons of our rich heritage and culture to the outside world.
Mir said that JKTDC in year 2017 had marked significant growth and market presence in F&B sector and also efforts were afoot to lead the hospitality sector.
On this occasion Secretary Tourism, Sarmad Hafeez and JKTDC officials were also present. (KNS)
