Takes stock of clinker, cement production achieved during previous financial year 2017-18

Srinagar, May 16 (KNS): Review Meeting was called by Er. Nazir Ah. Yatoo, Vice Chairman JKCL at its Head office, Sonawar Srinagar today on 15.05.2018. The meeting was attended by Managing Director and senior officers of the corporation which included FA&CAO, DGM (P&A), DGM/Company Secretary and other Heads of Marketing & Sales, Engineering, Projects, Environment, IT and RD&QA wings.
During the meeting, the Vice Chairman reviewed the performance of the company and took stock of the clinker and cement production achieved during the previous financial year 2017-18. The Vice Chairman was apprised that the company achieved highest ever cement sales of 1,43,837 MTs during the year with a sales value of Rs. 114 crores. The above sales targets are 25000 MTs of cement sales over & above what was achieved during the year 2016-17. The company has also earned additional sales revenue of Rs. 22 crores than the previous corresponding year 2016-17.
The Vice Chairman took the sectional review/feedback from the Head of the Sections and the Chair was apprised that the previous year 2017-18 was excellent in terms of clinker/cement production and the losses during the said year shall be negligible comparing with previous years. The liabilities of the company have also been liquidated to a larger extent.
Taking the review of the Khrew Plant, the Vice Chairman was apprised that the condition of the Plant is encouraging and the Pollution Control Devices (PCD’s) installed are working satisfactorily. It was pledged that the production & sales targets of Rs. 150 crores fixed for the current financial year will be achieved by end of 31st March 2019 as assured by the Management of JKCL and will ensure maximum clearance of accumulated liabilities during the year.
The Vice Chairman was kind enough to announce that he is taking up the issues of reimbursement of Migrant Salary, Budgetary Support and Release of Outstanding Payments with the Government Departments rigorously and hoped that these issues will be settled in the near future for which he will be taking meetings with Minister Industries & Commerce/ Chairman JKCL and other Govt. dignitaries.
Er. Nazir Ahmad Yatoo, Vice Chairman was optimistic about JKCL coming out of present financial crises and reposed full trust and faith on the workers and the Management of the Corporation. (KNS)
