Bandipora, Sep 24 (KNS): Unknown Persons tried to set ablaze a Panchayat Ghar at Mantrigam area in North Kashmir's Bandipora District late this evening. Sources said that, with timely action by locals of Mantrigam village and Police team who immediately rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
Sources said that Panchayat Ghar Suffered Some Minor Damage, however brought it under control immediately.
This is first such attempt in North Kashmir' to set ablaze Panchayat Ghar. The Government has pertinently decided to hold municipal polls in October followed by panchayat elections.
Earlier, more than eigth Panchayat Ghar's were under attack by unidentified persons in South Kashmir since Govt announced dates for Muncipal and panchayat elections. (KNS)
