Adequate funds sought for promotion of Kashmir’s tourism: Shah

Srinagar, May 11 (KNS): The tourism department as well as the players has sought adequate funds from the Union government for the promotion of Kashmir tourism.

The demand was put forth the tourism department during a meeting with Union Secretary Tourism, Yogendra Tripathi with tourism department officials and tourism players at Hotel Khyber in at Gulmarg.

Tripathi was accompanied by Union Joint Secretary tourism while Director Tourism Nisar Ahmad Wani, President Hoteliers Club Gulmarg Mukhtar Shah, CEO Gulmarg Haneef Balki and AEE Anjum were present in the meeting.

The officials as well as tourism players here urged Tripathi to increase the budget of Gulmarg, beautification of Gulmarg budget be made, new market be made in Gulmarg, proper roads, face lifting of Gulmarg be done at an earliest.

President Hoteliers Club Gulmarg Mukhtar Shah while talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the Union Secretary tourism has verbally approved the structure of new market in Gulmarg for which he asked to sent a budget to GDA.

He said that the demand of funds for the promotion of Kashmir’s tourism was also taken up during the meeting.

Shah further said that Tripathi assured all the matters taken up during the meeting will be resolved. (KNS)
