‘Jailing ailing freedom leaders will have serious consequences’

Srinagar, Nov 23 (KNS): United Jihad Council chief Syed Sallahudin slammed the Government of India for jailing ailing freedom leaders including Shabir Shah and has appealed to the World community and human rights organisation to intervene.
In an emailed statement to KNS, Sallahudin while chairing Hizb Command Council meeting said that despite court orders to shift Shah to a hospital, the Indian government locked him up in Tihar Jail.
“Jailing ailing freedom leaders will have serious consequences for which Indian government will be responsible,” the UJC chief said as per the statement.
Several Hurriyat leaders including Shabir Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Shahid ul Islam, Altaf Shah, Nayeem Khan, Raja Mehrajudin, Farooq Ahmad Dar have been jailed over the charges of creating unrest in Kashmir by taking hawala money.
The UJC chief appealed the world community and human rights organisation to intervene and also paid tributes to the militants slain during the week. (KNS)
