Two-unidentified militants killed in Pulwama encounter


Srinagar, May 02 (KNS): An encounter broke out between government forces and militants in Dangerpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday, police said.
Police official said that after receiving input about the presence of militants in the area, Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was jointly launched by 55 RR, SOG Pulwama and 182 BN CRPF in Dangerpora village. He said as searches were started in the area, militants who took refuge in a residential house, started firing upon search party, triggering to an encounter.
“Encounter has started at Dangerpora area of Pulwama. Police & security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow”, Kashmir Zone Police tweeted earlier. However as per police spokesperson two unidentified militants have been killed during the operation.
“So far 02 unidentified militants killed. Search operation going on. Further details shall follow”, police later on tweeted.
As per local reports, two residential houses of Bashir Ahmad and Nisar Ahmad were turned into debris during exchange of fire.
Meanwhile clashes were also reported at encounter site which were dispersed by forces after resorting to aerial firing and shelling.
Many civilians were also got injuries during clashes, reports said. (KNS)
