Two civilians injured in cross-border shelling in Tangdhar

Kupwara, Jul 30 (KNS): Two civilians received injuries during exchange of firing between the armies of India and Pakistan in Tanghdar sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg confirmed to Kashmir News Service (KNS) that two civilians received minor injuries when Pakistani army opened fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdar.

Reports said all the educational institutions, shops and other commercial establishments got closed as the firing created panic in the area.

Asked whether educational institutions in the area will remain closed on Wednesday, the DC said no decision has been taken so far in this regard.

Reports said heavy exchange of gun fires was going on.

As per Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, the intense shelling caused scare among the border residents. People were seen moving to safer places amid the rising tension. (KNS)
