Srinagar, Apr 18 (KNS): Few days back Srinagar police circulated news item in print & social media regarding the identification of truck involved in hit & run case on Chanapora bye-pass near Haryana marbles in which one person had lost his life.
Photographs of the truck involved in the case were obtained from the CCTV footage & accordingly circulated for identification & help was sought from the general public.
The circulation of news item along with photographs of truck proved very useful & finally led to the identification of the said truck with registration no JK13D 5118 and was accordingly seized and driver was arrested.
In this regard case FIR 49/2018 under section 279, 337, 304-A stands registered in Police Station Sadder and investigation is under going on.
Circulation of news item in the media played vital role in identification of the said truck and subsequent arrest of the accused driver.
Srinagar police has thanked the general public for their co-operation in nabbing the accused. (KNS)
