Delegation of doctors, paramedics meet Dr Adil Wani

Anantnag, Nov 22 (KNS): Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) stressed upon the government to release the pending salaries of doctors and paramedics who were recruited for setting up trauma centre of District Hospital (DH) Anantnag.
In this regard, a delegation of the doctors and paramedics today met Dr Adil Wani, District President of DAK, Anantnag and apprised him of non-payment of their salaries for last 20 months.
According to the statement issued to KNS, the trauma Centre of DH Anantnag was set up in the year 2013 so as to augment the facilities for better care and treatment of trauma patients.
DH Anantnag is an immediate referral hospital for trauma patients as the National highway passes through Anantnag. In addition to that it also caters adjoining areas of Kulgam, Ramban and Banihal.
The recent early management of injured yatra patients was possible only because of active and vibrant doctors and paramedics employed for the same. Inspite of being on the forefront for trauma patients the staff have not been paid their legitimately earned salaryof last 20 months. It has not only demoralized them but their family members are also suffering for no fault of theirs.
Dr Suhail Naik, President DAK to strong note of this humanitarian issue and stressed upon the authorities to release their salaries at the earliest so that justice is served. (KNS)
