Traffic Police City Srinagar, 98.3 Radio Mirchi organize awareness program

Srinagar, Mar 25 (KNS): Traffic Police City Srinagar in collaboration with 98.3 Radio Mirchi & HDFC Bank organized a week long awareness program “Traffic Patshala”. During the event voluntaries of 98.3 Radio Mirchi holding play cards in their hands stood on traffic junctions with a traffic awareness messages written on them. The main aim and purpose of the event was to encourage people about the use of safety gadgets in their day to day life and to send a strict message for safer driving.

The awareness program was flagged off by Dr. Haseeb Mughal -JKPS SSP District Srinagar, Zubair Iqbal Senior Vice President HDFC Bank, Sonam Dechan-JKPS, Addl. SP Traffic City Srinagar, Muzaffar Ahmad Shah-JKPS, SP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Dawood Ayoub-JKPS, SP East Srinagar, Deeba Khan, Station Head Radio Mirchi 98.3.
Around 20voluntaries from 98.3 Radio Mirchi participated in the event. The group of voluntaries in a special formation carrying placards and wearing different mascots in batches marched from Traffic Police office towards Polo View & Jehangir Chowk and back to Traffic Police Lines Srinagar.

While speaking on the occasion Dr. Haseeb Mughal, SSP District Srinagar Chairman &Vice President HDFC Bank appreciated the effort put in to emphasize on the safety of youth, observance of traffic rules and pedestrians on the roads.

SSP District Srinagar while addressing the voluntaries said that the time has come to involve the youth and common masses into such awareness and safety programs to disseminate a message of safe driving which is the need of the hour. He congratulated the youth for coming forward together to generate awareness on road safety. He further expressed the concern over the rising rate of accidents and expressed that the Traffic department is committed to work towards reducing such incidents and appreciated the role played by the people and youth in particular.

Later Addl. SP Traffic City Srinagar, Sonam Dechan-JKPS thanked all the participants, who made event possible. He said that the involvement of youth in any endeavor is an absolute imperative and the manner in which the team of 98.3 Radio Mirchi, HDFC Bank & Media fraternity are spreading the message of safe riding, clean environment and adherence to Motor Vehicle Rules is commendable. The Traffic Department shall continue to organize such events in future with an aim of amelioration of existing conditions. (KNS)
