Traffic Chaos in Bandipora After 5 PM as Public Transport Vanishes; Passengers Forced to Pay Exorbitant Auto Fares

Bandipora, Nov 14 (KNS) : Daily commuters in Bandipora are expressing strong resentment over the sudden disappearance of public transport from the main market after 5 pm, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded every evening.

Locals said most passenger vehicles stop operating in the evening hours, causing serious inconvenience to office-goers, students, and shoppers who depend on public transport. In the absence of vehicles, auto drivers reportedly charge excessive fares, taking advantage of the situation.

Residents said the situation turns chaotic daily as people are forced to wait for a long time or pay hefty amounts to reach home. “After 5 pm, traffic just disappears from the market. Autos charge whatever they want. We suffer every single day,” said a frustrated commuter.

People from several villages including Mantrigam, Arin, Sumlar, Aloosa, Dardpora, Khayar and other areas said they are facing immense hardship due to the lack of evening transport for the past one week.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMany said they have been reaching home late every day.

“Public transport disappears here after 5 pm, causing trouble for the people. The administration must look into this issue because not everyone has their own car,” said Aashiya, another commuter.

Locals have urged Deputy Commissioner Bandipora and ARTO Bandipora to intervene immediately and ensure proper evening transport services. They also demanded strict action against overcharging by auto drivers and restoration of normal transport facilities in the district.

Residents said they hope timely action from the administration will bring much-needed relief to dailyensure commuters. (KNS)
